Green Tourism Active Certified

Teniqua Treetops has achieved Green Champion Level for Sustainable Tourism Management.

We are very excited about this certification and will strive to achieve an even more eco-friendly resort.

What is GTA About?

Green Tourism Active is a non-profit organization offering global sustainability assessments and certifications.
This means that Teniqua Treetops meets global best practice standards for green tourism.
Teniqua Treetops continually strives to minimize our global footprint.

• Staff Practices, Health & Safety
• Conservation, Culture & Heritage
• Social & Community Engagement
• Local Issues and General Sustainability Management

You will notice recycling bins in our suites. We use glass instead of single-use plastics, compost bins and landfill bins.  Our lovely staff members are locals and we train our staff on the importance of recycling. Our water is sourced from the Karatara River. Although we are not completely off the grid, we do use solar to assist with our energy requirements.

We aim to make sustainable travel choices available to our visitors.
