Family Double Treetop Suites
There are two of these suites available and each is remarkably different from the other. These suites are suitable for four adults or 2 Adults and 2 children. Philosopher’s Perch is not recommended for very young children due to the multilevel and is not ideal during the colder months (June – August) as it has open sides in the kitchen and bathroom areas.
Both suites have air-conditioning in the bedrooms, electric blankets and Wi-Fi.
If you have a suite preference, please note it on special requests when booking and we will do our best to accommodate you.
PHILOSOPHER’S PERCH
This suite is the flagship Treetop Suite and was the first built. To avoid removing or damaging the majestic indigenous trees, we incorporated them into the design. The suite flows around the trees and the kitchen curves around one side of the deck. The bathroom opens onto the dense forest. The only creatures likely to witness your ablutions will be the colourful Knysna Turaco flitting through the trees and the curious vervet monkeys. The sitting and dining area is open-air and between the bedrooms. Walk up a few steps through the trees that enclose a short passage to the main bedroom with a private deck. The second bedroom is a cosy tented room off the main patio.
The rest of this suite is surrounded by forest. Relax on the communal deck and soak in the soft sounds of the vibrant forest. This is one of our most popular suites. Guests have said it’s like living in a Robinson Crusoe treehouse with the occasional Vervet monkey playing in the trees.
This suite is best suited for the warmer months.
FOREST ELDERS
This suite has two large bedrooms,a shared bathroom and the company of the famed Knysna Turaco (Knysna Lourie) who regularly have one-on-one combat with the bedroom windows. The entrance leads into the kitchen and out through a glass stained door to the outside deck providing forever views of the Karatara Gorge and the forest we are fortunate enough to call home. Here you are truly at one with nature. Often, mist surrounds you in the morning and it feels as though you’re living in the clouds—a truly memorable experience.
